emachine t1842 with windows xp professional

Windows will not boot up in any mode, I did get a message that a file in win system 32 is damaged or missing. I attempted to repair using a copy of Windows xp pro, but when I hit enter to install windows xp, The computer reboots, and will not do an install or repair. I was told I need a emachine system recovery disc in order to fix the problem. Dose anyone know where to get one, or where I could download from?

I had a similar problem until I set the system cache to a fixed size and moved it to a different hard drive than Windows or Horizons runs from.
